  Why have you remained theists?

  i realize many on this forum are atheist, and theres many threads to show why.

  some believe creationist lack knowledge or understanding and that we are too ignorant to realize there isn't a creator.. i have studied (not in depth) first year college science, and am studying medical/health currently.

  i am also very interested in astronomy, and have learned a little in that area.

  I'm not an athiest (perhaps inclined to agnostics) but i found Richard Dawkins arguments against theism intruiging. check it out yourself perhaps this will give an insight why many are finding athiesm compelling. Google will be your friend. :)

  Contradictory statement in this weeks WT

  this exerpt is taken from the july 15,2011 issue of the wt.

  study article for sept 19-25th.

  (bolding mines) this was under the subheading "when someone we love leaves jehovah".

  This is one of the most intriguing WTS i've seen. The conductor ask the audience what can they say on the picture of a certain page, where the parents were crying and the son was leaving the house. Someone commented that the son was leaving the home since the parents commanded him, and that this is accordance to the scripture about quit mixing with a wrong doer, and that the parents were sad about this.Yet they let their son leave thier home.

  However, a certain brother raised his hand and says that the scriptures about shunning is only applicable to the congregation and not to family ties. he said that the application of expellining a minor child from the house will cause more trouble to the child, parents, and the authorities. he said expelling a son in the house hold should only be done on a matured individual, not minor children. I thought that he has some points on these.

  But the conductor didn't agree on these and was a little furious saying that one should comment within the topic of the article. by doing so he tends to imply that a minor should leave the house if he/she was disfellowshiped. hehehehhehe. a lot of commotion and talking insued after the meeting. I held my smile to myself. these people seems to have nut brians, and few can apply a little critical thinking. :)

  What happens when you contact wbts HQ

  hi all,.

  what sort of responses do people actually get when you write to brooklyn hq to query subjects like their quote mining and other dubious uses of sources.

  i am currently having a bit of a 'discussion' on a popular nz mb with 3 or 4 current jw who are having a hard time accepting that the quotes from their latest pamphlets on evolution, among others are taken out of context, its got to the point where the only answer they are willing to give is to take it up with borg central.. if i actually physically mailed them a letter with a large portion of attached documents, would i get an actual response, photocopies of articles, or filed under wicked slave?.

  i watched this the other day on bbc4.

  it was a fascinating insight into how chaos therory could explain the complexity we see around us.

  This is one of the great documentaries ive been waiting! this will arm me more against the arguments of my JW friends. i will show this to our CO and elders. Can't imagine what will be there reactions. hehehhehehhehe.

  7 after this i saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back uthe four winds of the earth, vthat no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.

  Years ago, when we have our CBS on the Revelation Book, I ask the same questions you guys ask about the inconsistencies of our (JW) interpretation of the "before the throne" phrase. The elder conducting our CBS just went blank with an empty stare for several seconds. hehehhehehehhe.

  Now im tired about this bullshit interpretation of Revelation as they seem to interpret things to fit the GB ideology. besides that man writing this piece is just full of hallucinations. moreover he seemed not to understand the illusions he saw. i don't bother anymore of this shit.
